“Wäldchen hinterm Strom” (grove behind the lines)
2015
from the series Made in China
photo taken from the high-speed train Shanghai – Hangzhou
My first impulse when a power line runs parallel to the train track? Put the camera away. But not on this trip. I had just under an hour between Shanghai and Hangzhou (and between two business meetings), and outside the window was China! And it was a good decision, because I captured this friendly little forest, which the “disturbance” in the picture doesn’t harm at all. On the contrary, the vertical trunks seem to enter into a dialogue with the horizontal parallels, which opens up a new level in the work.
You can purchase this motif as a high-quality fine art print in museum quality. Hahnemühle Natural Line Hemp 290 is a very sustainable fine art paper, since it’s made from 60% hemp, a fast growing, low-ressurce fibre. The shop offers two different formats to choose from. (open edition)
All the photos of this series are also available through my wonderful agency Freiraum. They offer an exclusive and limited edition of high-quality prints on canvas for all the works in “Made in China”. When you order with them, the production and shipment will be taken care of by the professionals, and you will get your signed certificate of authenticity from me.
I love this photo, and I’m sure I will soon show it in an exhibition. If this is the artwork that touches your heart and that you want to own as an original, please contact me. I will let you know as soon as the picture is on show and available for purchase.
