“Grün hinter Gittern” (greenery behind bars)

2015
from the series Made in China

photo taken from the night train Guangzhou – Shanghai

I have a conflicted relationship with man-made structures… So far, the most I have allowed into my image selections is a lane or a hint of train tracks. But I have always liked photographing them — the fences, the tracks and the grids of this world that can be seen from the train. I call the photographs motion studies, delight in the effects, and leave them out of the selection for my next exhibition. But not this time. This picture of the open foil tunnels with the plants growing in rows underneath simply touched me, and I am curious to see if you feel the same way.

If you would like to purchase this motif as a high-quality fine art print in an open edition, I will be happy to produce an individual pigment print in museum quality for you. The prints are produced to order and can be made in various sizes.

I love this photo, and I’m sure I will soon show it in an exhibition. If this is the artwork that touches your heart and that you want to own as an original, please contact me. I will let you know as soon as the picture is on show and available for purchase.
